In the past it was recommended that you tune your vehicle up every 50,000 kms; however, today’s vehicles are mostly using platinum, double platinum and iridium spark plugs which may extend the time between tune-ups. Some vehicles don’t need to be tuned up until 160,000 kms; however, this can vary widely from one manufacturer to another. Here at Tim’s Automotive Repair we have all the information on your vehicle and will let you know when your tune-up is due. Carburetors are a thing of the past, with fuel injection, oxygen sensors and computers controlling how your vehicle performs. Your vehicle’s computer will turn on the ‘check engine light’ if a problem occurs. Feel free to ask us any questions that you may have with regards to your vehicles needs.
